It’s about redemption, family, legacy and hope what better ending could there be!

I posted aragorn, but I have to admit… I have grown to appreciate boromir more and more as I grow. His weakness was dispair… which is understandable and born out of his love, sense of duty, and devotion.

Aragorn too. Heck, almost everyone is Lotr

Also not to mention he’s an elderly man who only learns to treat people nice after probably 80 years of sexism and racism. Does that make him a good male role model?

Ignoring the drug dealer part, totally agree. Loved him

Gutted mate. Really wanted him to win.

Nobody asked for females.

Men do not want female role models.

Very underrated action film

— Sheltom’s Revenge (@SSheltom) September 26, 2023

The film is loosely based on the story of Fray Tormenta (“Friar Storm”, a.k.a. Rev. Sergio Gutiérrez Benítez), a real-life Mexican Catholic priest who had a 23-year career as a masked luchador to support the orphanage he directed. pic.twitter.com/PP470oVINE

Your conflation of warriors and heroes, suggests that fighting is the only true test of people, and specifically males. I am sorry, but that is bollocks. Plenty of people who have advanced society did not fit the simplistic model you provide.

I respect your opinion but Tolkien characters are more than just ‘Good’ and ‘Evil’. The movies had to adapt and simplify, and The Hobbit is a kid’s introduction to Arda, you have to read his opera omnia. Lots of treachery, deception and family/lineage issues.

I don’t blame you for your naivety or your romanticism – you certainly didn’t choose the name Lancelot for nothing….

JRR wanted to convey as realistic a psychological and political portrait of his world as possible – and he succeeded brilliantly.

Three Days of the Condor shall remain my top spy movie of all time. Only Robert Redford could kidnap a woman and end up in bed with her… but then she was Faye Dunaway; herself an icon of classy acting and beauty. pic.twitter.com/NMtoe9gsWq
