Spot on. I consider Boromir to be the only ‘real’ human; flawed and weak but resentfull of his weakness and wanting to redeem himself.

If you’re looking for great role models in movies for men, here are a few popular choices:

Atticus Finch from ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’,
Bishop Bienvenue from ‘Les Miserables’, and
Chris Gardner from ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’.

These characters are often seen as positive male…

Best role model for both men and fathers. Men who abandon their families for selfish reasons should watch this film.

For that question I always think of Laurence Fishburne as Furious Styles in Boyz N The Hood (1991).https://t.co/SUIYA896x6

GRR is evoking a world in which rich and powerful people fight with other rich and powerful people, largely for no reason. It’s medieval. It’s meaningless.

JRR – at least in LotR – is evoking the times when people choose between relative freedom and outright fascism.

He drops the bullets on the ground and leaves. It was coincidental that another man murdered them both that same night. It’s a huge part later in the movie when Tommy explains how he knows the guy that committed those murders. That would free Andy so the warden killed Tommy.

I’m gonna assume that this kind of desperate contrarianism is pretty much all the keeps you going in this world and pity you and hope you find love one day.

It’s absolutely sentimental and emotional and saying otherwise is ridiculous. And it’s a film that displays why poetry and art are the lifeblood of why we exist on this earth. To create, express ourselves, to give back. The movie displayed this beautifully
